District Attorney

The Erie County District Attorney’s Office oversees and prosecutes all criminal cases filed by municipal police departments throughout Erie County, as well as those filed by Pennsylvania State Police.

The department also acts as advocates for crime victims and works with other county departments and community agencies in treatment courts.

The department, which includes assistant district attorneys, county detectives and other staff, is led by District Attorney Jack Daneri, an elected official who is the chief law enforcement officer of the county.

The office also accepts anonymous tips from the public and supports Crime Stoppers, as well as sponsors the Erie Alerts Twitter feed.

Did you know? The District Attorney’s Office was involved in more than 13,500 court proceedings in 2014.
